Admissions Strategy Mentor (Remote, Part-Time)

We are seeking former admissions professionals from highly selective U.S. universities or elite boarding schools to serve as long-term mentors for international students in Grades 7–12. This role is designed for individuals with firsthand experience in competitive U.S. admissions who can provide strategic, experience-based guidance on private school and university admissions. You will act as a strategic advisor helping students build strong academic and extracurricular profiles aligned with top-tier admissions expectations. What you’ll do:

  • Provide monthly 1:1 mentorship sessions to students (Grades 7–12)
  • Advise on academic course selection aligned with selective admissions expectations
  • Design and evaluate extracurricular strategy, leadership development, and summer planning
  • Guide students in building authentic, high-impact student profiles
  • Provide insight into how selective admissions committees evaluate applicants
  • Support school list development and application positioning
  • Provide high-level feedback on essays and application narratives
  • Prepare students for admissions interviews Requirements: Institutional Background (Required) Former admissions professionals from one of the following:
  • Highly selective U.S. universities (e.g., Ivy League or equivalent institutions)
  • Top 30 U.S. boarding schools (e.g., Phillips Exeter Academy, Phillips Academy Andover, Deerfield Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall, etc.) Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with holistic admissions review in competitive applicant pools
  • Familiarity with U.S. private school or university admissions processes
  • Experience working with international students or globally mobile families Not a Fit For This Role: This role may not be suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to:
  • K–12 school counseling without admissions office experience
  • Academic advising without exposure to admissions processes
  • Enrollment, recruitment, or sales-based admissions roles (including for-profit programs)
  • General student services or registrar offices
  • Independent consulting without prior institutional admissions experience Details:
