Check out our website: AIR Control Concepts | HVAC Partnerships, Growth & Support Across North America Job Description: The Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration of employee benefits programs, with a strong focus on self-funded health plans. This role ensures compliance, maintains accurate documentation, and assists with audits while delivering a high level of service to internal stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and ancillary plans Assist in managing self-funded health plans, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with plan requirements Maintain and organize benefits documentation, plan records, and compliance files Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA) related to benefit plans Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries Partner with HR, payroll, and external vendors to resolve benefit-related issues Assist with open enrollment processes, including communications, system updates, and employee support Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit plans, eligibility, and coverage Monitor and reconcile benefit billing and eligibility reporting as needed Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation accuracy, and compliance tracking Experience and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 2–5 years of experience in benefits administration, with direct exposure to self-funded health plans strongly preferred Working knowledge of benefits compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA) Experience maintaining benefits documentation and supporting audits Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency in HRIS/benefits systems and Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Experience:Experience supporting self-funded or partially self-funded employer health plans Exposure to benefits audits, compliance reviews, or vendor management Familiarity with benefits reporting and reconciliation processes Benefits: We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:Health & Wellness – Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage to support your well-being.
