This role will focus on dashboard development, data validation, and collaboration with stakeholders in a fast-moving consulting environment. This is likely an initial 2-3 month contract, but could be extended through great delivery.
- We are open to two types of candidates:
- Tableau and Power BI Developer: Strong in both Tableau and Power BI and able to create dashboards proficiently in both tools.
- Power BI-first Developer: Strong in building Power BI dashboards and some exposure to Tableau.
- What you’ll do
- Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Support and modify existing dashboards, including working with underlying SQL and calculations.
- Translate business requirements and wireframes into effective visualizations.
- Develop and optimize DAX measures (Power BI).
- Use SQL for data validation, profiling, and troubleshooting.
- Own work from requirements through development and quality checks.
- Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to iterate on reporting solutions.
- What we're looking for
- Degree-qualified in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau and Power BI, and ideally able to build in both environments.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience supporting existing BI environments, not just greenfield builds.
- Ability to organize and clarify business requirements.
- Comfortable working independently in a project-based consulting role.
- Clear communication and stakeholder-facing skills.
This is an independent contractor position; the rate will vary based on experience. This will be on a 1099 contractor basis. CompassX is unable to provide visa sponsorship. However, we can engage consultants who hold valid work authorization through a third-party employer (e.g., H-1B holders contracting through their sponsoring employer).
