Why This Role Matters

As the Customer Development Manager – B2C, you will be the strategic bridge between careerzynith and one of the nation’s largest retail chains. You will own the full sales lifecycle, from relationship building and category strategy to execution of promotional initiatives and financial performance. This is a remote‑first role, with a preference for candidates located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area, who bring direct selling experience with large‑scale retailers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Relationship Management: Build and nurture high‑impact relationships with senior decision‑makers, category managers, and merchandising teams at careerzynith’s retail partner.
  • Category Growth Execution: Drive divisional wins such as in‑store displays, distribution expansion, and ACV (All‑Commodity Volume) enhancement.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams—including Customer Strategy, Finance, and Customer Service—to align on joint objectives and ensure seamless execution.
  • Go‑to‑Market Insight: Maintain a deep understanding of the retailer’s go‑to‑market model, category management strategy, and seasonal planning cycles.
  • Budget & Forecast Management: Deliver on the annual budget plan, new‑product distribution targets, and sales forecasts using careerzynith’s CRM platforms (TIM and Osprey).
  • Opportunity Identification: Spot emerging growth opportunities, develop written sales plans, and translate corporate goals into actionable retail initiatives.
  • Customer Education & Presentation: Conduct compelling presentations that showcase product innovation, shelf positioning, promotional tactics, and pricing strategy.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily business activities—including UPC setup, inventory management, logistics coordination, and contract administration—to guarantee flawless product availability.
  • Trade Investment Management: Input trade fund data, manage trade budgets, and ensure a strong ROI on promotional spend.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Produce monthly sales analytics, insights, and performance dashboards that inform go‑to‑market adjustments.
  • P&L Ownership: Manage profit and loss responsibilities for the assigned account, driving both revenue growth and margin improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead projects that streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and elevate the overall partnership experience.
  • Travel: Participate in on‑site visits, trade shows, and retailer meetings up to 20% travel as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (required).
  • 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2 years managing large B2C accounts (experience with careerzynith’s retail partner strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record in grocery, drug, or mass‑retail channels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience leveraging syndicated data to shape pricing, promotional, and assortment strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales plans in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong project‑management skills, with a history of delivering complex initiatives on time and on budget.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret financial data, budgets, and ROI metrics.
  • Dynamic leadership style—able to motivate cross‑functional teams and overcome obstacles.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with CRM systems similar to TIM and Osprey.
  • Deep understanding of trade‑investment budgeting and P&L management.
  • Creative problem‑solving skills—comfort operating in “uncharted” territory to drive innovation.
  • Experience working with agencies or external partners on trade fund execution.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits
