We turn fragmented tools, manual workflows, and legacy ELN/LIMS systems into structured, executable, reviewable systems for biotech, pharma, and scientific teams. We are early, customer-driven, and building a new category. We are hiring our first marketing hire to build the demand generation engine from zero . This is a hands-on role: create pipeline, sharpen positioning, produce technical content, run campaigns, and support founder-led sales. You will work directly with the CEO, turning customer conversations, demos, and early traction into repeatable programs. Ideal for someone with B2B growth or demand gen experience who writes clearly, moves fast, and thrives in ambiguity. What You’ll Do

  • Build demand generation from zero.

Own lead gen across outbound, content, events, partnerships, and account-based marketing. Build campaigns targeting biotech, pharma, synthetic biology, service providers, and lab operations leaders around use cases like protocol execution, ELN/LIMS modernization, data wrangling, and AI-ready lab infrastructure. Test channels fast, measure pipeline contribution, CAC, and conversion, and scale what works.

  • Support founder-led sales.

Turn customer conversations into sharper messaging, case studies, and sales assets. Build tailored decks, one-pagers, and nurture flows for high-value accounts and pilots. Partner with the CEO to prioritize targets and ensure promising opportunities get timely, relevant follow-up.

  • Own product marketing and positioning.

Make the technical product understandable and compelling. Refine Cypher’s category narrative, value props, and competitive differentiation (vs. Benchling, legacy ELN/LIMS, internal scripts, AI copilots). Translate complex scientific workflows into clear language for scientists, R&D leaders, and technical buyers, and feed market insights back to product.

  • Build early brand and market presence.

Own content strategy and execution: thought leadership, case studies, technical explainers, launch content, and core collateral (website copy, landing pages, one-pagers, FAQs). Support announcements, investor updates, and partnership launches. Define Cypher’s voice: practical, technical, and serious about scientific outcomes.

  • Stand up marketing infrastructure.

Operate CRM and marketing automation (AI native CRM or Hubspot). Build lead capture, attribution, segmentation, nurture flows, and dashboards. Track the funnel from visitor to lead to meeting to pilot to customer, with fast feedback loops to sales and founders. What We’re Looking For Required

  • 5–8+ years in B2B growth marketing, demand generation, product marketing, or full-stack marketing.
  • Experience marketing to technical or sophisticated business audiences, with strong independent writing across copy, landing pages, outbound, and sales assets.
  • Hands-on multi-channel campaign execution and a strong grasp of funnel metrics, attribution, and pipeline reporting.
  • Experience with AI native CRM and marketing automation tools.
  • Comfort operating with limited resources and high ambiguity, working directly with founders, with strong ownership and execution standards.

Strong Plus

  • Background in life sciences, biotech, pharma, synthetic biology, scientific software, lab automation, or B2B SaaS.
  • Experience as a first or early marketing hire supporting founder-led sales.
  • Account-based marketing for mid-market or enterprise; familiarity with ELN, LIMS, bioinformatics, or R&D software.
  • Experience marketing AI products to technical users, and comfort using AI tools to accelerate the work.

What Success Looks Like In the first 90 days you will clarify Cypher’s ICPs, personas, and target-account strategy; launch initial outbound and content-led campaigns; create core messaging for priority segments; produce sales collateral, landing pages, and nurture sequences; set up CRM and funnel reporting; and help generate qualified meetings and pilot opportunities. Over time, you will build a repeatable growth engine that creates qualified pipeline, improves conversion, and makes Cypher known as the AI-native infrastructure platform for life science R&D.
