Executive Coach - Non Profit Governance Expert
Executive Governance Coach / Nonprofit Board Governance Consultant Description: Seeking an experienced Executive Governance Coach / Nonprofit Board Governance Consultant to support executive leaders and nonprofit organizations in strengthening board governance practices, executive leadership effectiveness, and organizational accountability. This role is ideal for a seasoned nonprofit executive, governance strategist, executive coach, or board development consultant who has deep experience working with nonprofit leadership teams, Boards of Directors, and executive-level stakeholders. The consultant will provide coaching, strategic guidance, governance advisory support, and leadership development focused on nonprofit board management, fiduciary responsibilities, executive-board relationships, governance communication, and organizational sustainability. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate one-on-one executive coaching sessions
- Support nonprofit leaders in managing Board of Directors relationships
- Advise on governance structures, committee operations, and accountability systems
- Assist with board communication strategies and executive reporting
- Support strategic planning alignment between executive leadership and boards
- Provide guidance around difficult board dynamics and governance conflict
- Assist with board retreat preparation and governance facilitation
- Review governance workflows, policies, and leadership structures
- Help strengthen executive presence and leadership communication in governance settings
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Experience serving in nonprofit executive leadership, governance, or board advisory roles
- Strong understanding of nonprofit governance best practices and fiduciary responsibilities
- Experience coaching executive leaders or senior management teams
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and strategic thinking skills
- Experience with organizational development, leadership development, or board engagement strategy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive leadership environments
- Preferred: Experience supporting nonprofits, foundations, education organizations, or mission-driven institutions
