Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support to join our team in the Revenue Recovery Department. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing professionals to ensure that our clients receive the reimbursement they're entitled to. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems
  • Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits
  • Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems
  • Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients
  • Running and creating reports
  • Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team
  • Scanning and indexing of documents

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in medical records, data entry, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and hospital patient accounting systems a plus

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with medical records

  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
  • Familiarity with hospital patient accounting systems and EMRs
  • Certification in medical records or a related field (e.g., RHIT, RMA)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
