Position Overview

As a Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician at careerzynith, you will play a critical role in supporting our state-of-the-art fulfillment center operations. Working from the comfort of your home, you will be responsible for processing patient enrollment, managing prescription data with the highest level of accuracy, and resolving third-party exceptions. Your contributions will directly support licensed pharmacists in delivering exceptional care to patients nationwide. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $35,000–$45,000 annually, depending on experience, credentials, and geographic location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Process new patient registrations using careerzynith's proprietary prescription data entry systems, ensuring all information is entered accurately and efficiently into the appropriate platforms.
  • Prescription Management: Handle patient medication requests while strictly adhering to HIPAA guidelines, and enter refill orders for processing in a timely manner.
  • Information Investigation: Research and obtain missing prescription information, interpret medical abbreviations including SIG codes, and resolve all data entry-related exceptions with precision.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate automated equipment designed to pre-sort and package medications in support of fulfillment site operations, ensuring optimal workflow and quality control.
  • Medication Processing: Count, fill, and label prescriptions; prepare packages for shipment; and maintain an organized, clean workspace at all times.
  • Third-Party Exception Resolution: Investigate and resolve third-party billing exceptions by reviewing information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting claims according to individual plan requirements.
  • Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to pharmacists located both on-site and at remote locations, identifying and escalating issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Compliance & Licensing: Obtain and maintain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment, and ensure ongoing compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to start and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, launch and close programs, switch between applications, save files, print documents, and access information online.
  • Fundamental internet navigation skills, including opening a browser, entering URLs in the correct location, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute (WPM), including the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that include pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates who possess the following qualifications will be given priority consideration:

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail, fulfillment, or call center environment.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service to both internal and external clients, with a proven track record of meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Required certification or registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the state, as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM, including the ability to type by memory and format documents efficiently.
