Human Resources Business Partner – Retail Contract to Hire | Kapolei, HI Exciting newly created role supporting a rapidly growing organization Bishop & Company is seeking a proactive and skilled Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support a dynamic and expanding retail organization. This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, supporting employees, and aligning people practices with business operations during a period of growth. This position is ideal for someone who brings sound judgment, adaptability, and a hands-on approach to building a strong, values-driven workplace in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do Recruit and onboard Manage the full hiring lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, offers, and onboarding Support people and performance Provide employee relations guidance, performance coaching, and return-to-work support Champion compliance Administer leave programs (FMLA, HFLL, TDI, STD, LTD), support drug-testing protocols, and ensure policy compliance Develop talent Coordinate training and development initiatives aligned with workforce planning and employee growth Be a trusted advisor Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees, reinforcing a culture of integrity, collaboration, and accountability Analyze and improve Use HR data and insights to monitor trends and continuously refine programs What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience across employee relations and core HR disciplines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of Hawaii State labor laws and employment regulations
  • Working knowledge of federal employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • SHRM-CP/SCP (or willingness to obtain) preferred
  • Experience supporting retail or operational environments is highly desirable

Compensation

Compensation is determined individually based on the experience and qualifications each candidate brings to the role. The expected salary range for this position is $80,000–$105,000 annually. This range is not a guarantee of a specific salary; final compensation may vary based on education, experience, certifications, budget approval, and other job-related factors.
