Job Description Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse with Certified School Nurse (CSN) credentials to provide per diem, as-needed substitute services within a K-12 school setting in Riverside, CA. The role involves supporting the health and well-being of students across multiple schools during the current school year.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a substitute school nurse, stepping in as needed to provide consistent care and support Conduct hearing and vision screenings, particularly for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special needs Collaborate with Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) on call to manage medication administration and handle health-related situations effectively Manage and update individualized care plans and health plans for students Be available on call for emergency situations within assigned schools, typically covering up to three schools per assignment, in alignment with the regular school nurse's schedule Qualifications and Experience Valid RN license with Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification Prior experience working specifically in school nursing roles is essential; candidates should already be familiar with the demands and responsibilities of the position as there is no provision for training Proficiency in conducting hearing and vision screenings for students, including those with special needs Strong ability to manage care plans and collaborate with other healthcare staff in a school setting This per diem position offers the flexibility to provide critical health services on an as-needed basis, supporting schools in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students.
