About The Role We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our Core Engineering team. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the quality and efficiency of both our open-source ClickHouse project and our cloud-based services. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and refining automation frameworks, executing automated and manual testing strategies, and ensuring seamless deployment of new features into production environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate new functionalities, identify areas for improvement, and engineer robust testing infrastructure to support our rapid development cycles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact the quality of a cutting-edge database system used worldwide, requiring a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for quality assurance in distributed systems.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and experience working with database systems
  • Prior experience in SDET, Release Engineering, or QA roles related to classical databases or distributed systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and C++
  • Ability to read and validate C++ code
  • Working knowledge of Git, Linux, and shell scripting
  • Experience with manual testing and automation testing frameworks
  • Strong collaboration skills, including remote team coordination
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to learn complex technologies quickly
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in production environments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance test automation frameworks and automated test cases
  • Execute testing of new features and ensure smooth deployment into production
  • Test cross-functional implementations across various internal teams
  • Implement innovative testing strategies and automation techniques for large-scale distributed systems
  • Evaluate new functionalities in each release and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Engineer and continuously improve existing testing infrastructure and tools
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality software releases
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain system stability
