Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Member Services Representative to join the Payments and Digital Strategy team within the careerzynith Credit Union. This role is pivotal in handling daily transaction processing, account reconciliation, and member support activities. You will work remotely from Texas, USA, collaborating with internal partners, external vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure accurate, compliant, and customer‑centric financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end‑to‑end transaction processing, including ACH, wire transfers, remote deposit capture, mobile deposits, and ATM image‑based transactions.
  • Balance daily, weekly, and monthly ledgers; prepare and post journal entries; and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain financial integrity.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, external vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other financial institutions to resolve transaction exceptions and fraud inquiries.
  • Assist members with inquiries related to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, IRA transactions, and other banking services, delivering courteous and knowledgeable support.
  • Review, approve, and audit remote deposit and mobile deposit images for compliance with NACHA and Federal banking regulations.
  • Process stop payments, check batches, and manage overdue returns, ensuring timely and accurate posting.
  • Research and verify incoming and outgoing wire transfer details, communicating clearly with members to explain processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of member data in accordance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Support cross‑training initiatives, stepping in to assist other team members during peak periods or when coverage is needed.
  • Document all activities accurately in the system, providing audit trails for internal and external reviews.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework in finance, accounting, or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1‑2 years in a customer service or member services role, preferably within a banking or credit union environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and familiarity with banking platforms such as Episys or Symitar.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of NACHA rules, Federal Reserve regulations, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong numerical aptitude, capable of performing accurate calculations and data analysis under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts in plain language.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work extended hours when business needs dictate, while maintaining high performance and attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a credit union or banking environment, especially within payments processing.
  • Hands‑on experience with ACH, wire, and remote deposit capture systems.
  • Certification or coursework in compliance, anti‑money‑laundering (AML), or financial crime prevention.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting.
