Oriental Trading Company is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Remote Proofreader to join our content team on a part-time, flexible basis. In this crucial role, you will be the final guardian of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style across a diverse range of our customer-facing and internal communications. Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review and proofread a variety of content types, including website copy, product descriptions, marketing materials, blog posts, email campaigns, and internal communications, for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Oriental Trading Company's brand voice, style guidelines, and established editorial standards.
  • Verify factual accuracy, consistency in terminology, and proper formatting across all documents.
  • Collaborate effectively with content writers, editors, graphic designers, and marketing teams to implement corrections and ensure a cohesive final product.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet publication schedules.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improving content clarity and readability.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Proven ability to proofread with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in applying various style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, AP Stylebook).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
