Position Overview

The Data Entry Operator – Business Office & Healthcare Billing Specialist at careerzynith is a pivotal role responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and processing admission, discharge, billing, and timesheet information. This position ensures that patient accounts are correctly maintained, claims are submitted without error, and financial reports are generated on time. The ideal candidate is a fast typist with a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external payors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter treatment and service information into careerzynith’s electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems with precision and speed.
  • Identify and correct keypunch errors, missing data, or discrepancies; reconcile claim forms to patient bills and verify chart information against trial bills.
  • Generate and distribute internal reports, billing lists, and data extracts to support financial analysis and departmental planning.
  • Prepare standardized, uniform, or customized claim forms for submission to third‑party payors; collaborate with carrier representatives and patients to resolve billing or administrative issues.
  • Process Medicare remittance notices, ensuring proper crediting of payments, adjustments, and accurate posting to patient accounts.
  • Flag delinquent accounts for supervisory review and assist in the follow‑up process to improve collection rates.
  • Maintain and update the patient account master index, guaranteeing the integrity of billing production reports.
  • Perform ancillary duties such as filing, answering phones, typing correspondence, and ordering office supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and promptly report any equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or incidents to management.

Essential Qualifications

  • Typing proficiency: Minimum 40 words per minute with high accuracy is mandatory.
