Senior Backend Engineer, Platform Team (Remote)

We're looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our growing platform engineering team. In this role, you will leverage your deep programming expertise to design and build scalable, reliable backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong experience in application system architecture and design. Our engineering team features software developers and data engineers who enjoy being at the cutting edge. They are responsible for writing code that has a significant impact on our customers and future product lines. Our teams are collaborative, high-performing, curious, aligned to our product goals, and have a strong impact on the success of the business. We build high-performance ML and AI products that are transforming the landscape of healthcare. What You’ll Do:

• Contribute to backend server development to keep our system extensible, scalable, and secure
• Work with other teams to understand how our systems must change to support future customer-focused deliverables
• Design and implement complex frameworks for applying machine learning techniques to large data volumes
• Deliver reliable and good-performing software

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of strong experience in backend-focused software development
• Skill in reading the source for complex software systems, understanding them, and improving them
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Comfort when navigating ambiguity
• Joy when learning new things
• A drive to write high-quality software

The ideal candidate will have a selection of these technical skills as well:

• Working experience with Java, Scala, and the JVM
• Working experience with SQL
• Experience in Rust and Python as a bonus
• A strong CS foundation in data structures and asynchronous programming
• BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc. The base salary range for this role is $200k +/- We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range.
