Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of modern aviation. From flight scheduling and crew management to passenger loyalty programs and predictive maintenance, every decision is powered by data. Your work will directly influence strategic initiatives, improve the passenger journey, and support careerzynith’s mission to make travel more reliable, sustainable, and delightful.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store large‑volume datasets from diverse sources, including operational systems, IoT devices, and third‑party APIs.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business analysts to understand analytical requirements and translate them into reliable data solutions.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes on AWS, leveraging services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, and Athena.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data modeling, schema design, and data quality assurance.
  • Automate repetitive data processing tasks using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and champion a culture of continuous learning within the data engineering team.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, product, finance, and operations—to ensure data solutions align with business goals and compliance standards.
  • Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive optimizations to guarantee high availability and low latency.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend strategic enhancements that keep careerzynith at the forefront of industry innovation.
  • Document architecture decisions, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and regulatory compliance.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven expertise with AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena) and strong SQL proficiency.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale, preferably using Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas, and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems through analytical thinking and systematic troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship or authorized work status in the United States; no sponsorship available.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications in cloud architecture, data engineering, or big data technologies.
  • Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
  • Knowledge of streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis) and real‑time analytics frameworks.
  • Background in the aviation or transportation sector, understanding of flight operations data, or related regulatory environments.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines and collaboration with data science teams.
  • Strong project management capabilities and a track record of delivering large‑scale data initiatives on time.

Core Competencies & Personal Attributes
