Role Overview – Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join careerzynith’s Data Innovation Team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, develop data models, and ensure seamless data flow across development, QA/UAT, and production environments. You will partner with Studio and Project Innovation stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions, leveraging a modern tech stack that includes SQL, Python, Docker, GitLab, Kafka, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data requirements, define data quality standards, and design end‑to‑end data pipelines.
• Architect, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes that ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into data lakes and warehouses.
• Design logical and physical data models, including schema definitions, table structures, and view specifications.
• Implement and enforce best practices for data versioning, testing, and documentation using GitLab/GitHub.
• Deploy containerized workloads with Docker, ensuring reproducibility and scalability across cloud environments.
• Manage data storage solutions on AWS S3, Snowflake, and Databricks, optimizing performance and cost.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data‑focused role.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Demonstrated expertise with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including S3 storage and related services.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools.
• Solid understanding of data lake and data warehouse concepts, with experience in Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with streaming technologies, specifically Apache Kafka (referred to as “Wind stream” in internal terminology).
• Strong version‑control skills using GitLab or GitHub, including branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and data models.
