The Ranking Director, ML Engineering and Data Operations is a cornerstone of careerzynith’s data strategy. In this role, you will architect and own enterprise‑wide machine‑learning platforms, build resilient data pipelines, and champion best practices that empower every line of business—from flight operations to customer experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with product owners, engineering leads, and cross‑functional stakeholders to design innovative technical solutions that unlock new business capabilities.
  • Platform Design & Development: Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of data platform components using modern cloud technologies, ensuring high availability, low latency, and robust security.
  • Machine‑Learning Enablement: Build and maintain end‑to‑end ML pipelines that support model training, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Define and manage serverless architectures and infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and other IaC tools to guarantee repeatable, auditable deployments.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Observability & Governance: Implement observability frameworks (e.g., OpenTelemetry, OpenLineage, Marquez) and data quality tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Deequ) to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to accelerate delivery cycles while maintaining rigorous standards.
  • Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in large‑scale data pipelines, leveraging tools such as Apache Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security policies, manage IAM roles, and ensure platform compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.

Essential Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience designing and operating large‑scale data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including services such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, Kinesis, SNS, and Step Functions.
  • Proven expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and serverless architectures.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with a solid grasp of data processing frameworks (PySpark, Apache Beam, Flink).
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional teams that design, build, or support data platforms on AWS.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline) and version control systems (Git).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
