Senior Industrial Engineer - Remote Operations
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Senior Industrial Engineer to join their fully remote team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in optimizing complex operational processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across our client's diverse business units. The ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, simulation modeling, and data analysis to identify and implement significant operational enhancements. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a virtual setting. Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement data-driven solutions to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve productivity and quality. Design and implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Utilize simulation software to model and evaluate proposed process changes before implementation. Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and management teams to define project requirements and achieve project goals. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed operational changes and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track operational performance and progress. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and operations personnel on process improvement techniques. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in industrial engineering and operations management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, operations analysis, or process improvement roles. Proven experience applying lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly preferred). Strong proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP). Expertise in data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in CAD software and experience with process mapping tools is desirable. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fully remote environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline and organizational skills.
