Senior IT & Cloud Engineer
As the IT & Cloud Senior Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Cloud team in designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure and solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical support and expertise on Azure cloud services, collaborating with the team to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of technology services. You will assist in driving the adoption and optimisation of cloud solutions, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and innovation. With your extensive experience and knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, particularly Azure services, you will contribute to the success of on-premises solution migrations to the cloud, manage and monitor app services, and help control and optimize the cost base of technology services. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining a high standard of technology service delivery and ensuring alignment with business objectives and service quality standards. ✔ A seasoned technical professional with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience in a senior technical role. ✔ An Azure expert with at least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft technology stack, with a focus on Azure cloud services, including Azure App Services, App Service Plans, and Azure SQL Databases. AZ-305 certification is not essential but preferred. ✔ An excellent communicator with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. ✔ A passionate supporter of higher education who is inspired by our products and services, and who lives and breathes our company values daily. ✔ A strong background in IT Infrastructure, service management and support processes. ✔ Provide technical leadership and guidance on Azure cloud services, best practices, and architectures, leveraging your extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack. ✔ Drive the adoption and optimization of cloud solutions, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and innovation. ✔ Manage and monitor app services in a cloud environment, applying DevOps principles and tools to automate and streamline processes. ✔ Manage and monitor Azure SQL, ensuring maximum performance and availability on databases. ✔ Control and optimize the cost base of technology services, using Azure Cost Management and other tools to track and reduce spending.
