Social Media Strategist (Part-Time) - Food Brands - Content Planning

We're a New York-based creator marketing agency looking for a part-time social media strategist to support a retained client account across three food brand social channels (TikTok and Instagram). THIS IS A STRATEGY ROLE - NOT EXECUTION To be clear upfront: you will not be managing content creation, handling UGC creators, scheduling posts, or running community management. That work is handled separately. Your role is purely strategic - thinking, planning, and briefing. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Develop monthly content plans for three food brand social accounts — covering themes, content pillars, seasonal moments, and platform-relevant opportunities - Stay across TikTok and Instagram trends and identify how they can be applied to each brand in a way that feels authentic - Write clear, well-crafted UGC briefs that give creators enough direction to produce great content while leaving room for their own voice. - Build out monthly social media plans that map content across the accounts in a cohesive, strategic way. - Collaborate with our team at the end of each month to align on the following month's direction. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Proven experience developing social media strategy for brands — food, CPG, or lifestyle experience is a strong plus - Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram content formats, trends, and what actually performs - Experience writing UGC or influencer briefs - you know how to give creative direction without killing the creator's voice - Strategic thinker who can plan across multiple brands simultaneously without losing the individual identity of each - Clear, concise written communication — your briefs and plans need to be easy for a team to act on - Reliable and self-directed — this is a light-touch engagement and we need someone who can work independently DETAILS - Approximately 10-20 hours per month - Ongoing retained engagement — not a one-off project - Remote, flexible hours - Food or CPG brand experience preferred but not required if your strategy work speaks for itself When applying, please share examples of content plans, social strategies, or UGC briefs you have produced.
