Ellison Dr. San Antonio, Texas, 78251 United States Requisition #: Outside working hours if other than M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: May include evenings and weekends depending on student need Job Summary and Description Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Full-time faculty members are classified according to the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in front-end web design and production, including HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
  • Experience creating and managing social media content across major platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to present professional portfolio demonstrating web design, digital media, and/or social media work.
  • Professional industry experience in web design, digital media production, or social media management Experience with UI/UX design principles and tools (e.g., Figma).
  • Knowledge of current trends in digital media, social media strategy, and emerging technologies (including AI tools).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to students with varying levels of experience.
  • Commitment to teaching, student engagement, and inclusive learning environments

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Digital Media, Web Design, Graphic Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in higher education, workforce development, or industry settings.
  • Experience developing curriculum, course materials, or online/hybrid instruction.

Additional Requirements:

  • Portfolio required: Candidates must provide a link to an online portfolio showcasing relevant work in web design, digital media, and/or social media campaigns.
  • Ability to teach both technical skills and creative problem-solving in a hands-on, project-based environment.
  • Willingness to stay current with evolving technologies, platforms, and industry practices.
