This senior leadership role is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure significant financial support. The successful candidate will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, manage a portfolio of key prospects, and oversee all aspects of donor engagement to foster long-term partnerships and maximize philanthropic contributions. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills, a proven track record in major gift fundraising, and a deep commitment to the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to achieve ambitious annual and multi-year financial goals, with a focus on major gifts ($5,000+). Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual donors, foundations, and corporate prospects capable of making significant contributions. Build and maintain strong, meaningful relationships with donors, ensuring they feel valued and informed about the impact of their support. Plan and manage donor events, cultivation activities, and recognition programs. Write compelling grant proposals, appeals, and reports for foundations and major donors. Collaborate with the executive team, board members, and program staff to identify funding opportunities and leverage their networks. Oversee the donor database (CRM) and ensure accurate record-keeping of all donor interactions and contributions. Develop strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and upgrading. Monitor fundraising progress, analyze results, and provide regular reports to leadership and the board. Stay informed about trends in philanthropy, non-profit management, and the organization's specific field of work. Manage and mentor a small team of development staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising practices and relevant regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Philanthropy). Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising, with a strong emphasis on major gifts, capital campaigns, or comprehensive fundraising. Demonstrated success in soliciting and closing gifts of $50,000 or more. Proven ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in prospect research, donor cultivation, and stewardship. Proficiency with donor CRM systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack). Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including board members, staff, volunteers, and donors.
