Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing & Reconciliation: Perform daily transaction posting, balance adjustments, and account reconciliations for credit union members.
- Return Item Management: Coordinate returned items with merchants, issuing banks, and internal departments, ensuring timely resolution.
- Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Follow NACHA rules, federal banking regulations, and internal policies to maintain strict compliance.
- Document Review & Authorization: Review and authorize Remote Deposit Capture, Mobile, ATM, and image‑based items, guaranteeing accuracy and security.
- General Ledger Updates: Log, analyze, and post significant GL entries, account adjustments, and reversal transactions.
- Stop Pay & Check Bundling: Process stop‑pay requests and manage check‑bundling activities efficiently.
- End‑of‑Day & Month‑End Closing: Execute routine processing tasks related to overdue returns, receipt generation, foreign exchanges, and chargebacks.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with merchants and members to resolve payment disputes, gather required documentation, and explain processing steps.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Ensure all transaction data is accurate, complete, and stored in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant statutes.
- Cross‑Training & Team Support: Assist other departments with audit requests, part inquiries, and any assigned duties to promote a collaborative environment.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional post‑secondary education preferred.
- Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in customer service, preferably within a banking or credit union setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of banking operations, payment processing, and related compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and experience using banking platforms such as Episys or Symitar.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform numerical calculations and interpret financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering superior customer service.
